  About Zyderm & Zyplast  
 

Zyderm® & Zyplast® are products used in Collagen Replacement Therapy treatments and are injectable collagen implants composed of a highly purified bovine collagen. They help to replace your own natural collagen, which is gradually lost from the skin with age, leading to lines and wrinkles.

  
  Treated Areas  
 

A simple skin test of collagen is given in the forearm four weeks prior to treatment in order to rule out any sensitivity. Most clients (97%) may go on to treatment.

Zyderm 1 implant is used for fine lines, wrinkles, shallow scars and thin-skinned clients.

Zyderm 2 implant is used for moderate lines, wrinkles and facial scars.

Zyplast implant is used for deep lines and wrinkles, lip enhancement and acne scars.

All the above products contain a small amount of local anaesthetic, which reduces treatment discomfort. Treatment does not take long and daily activities may be resumed immediately.

  
  Side Effects After Treatment  
 

Side effects are injection-related such as swelling, redness and bruising. These usually resolve after 1 or 2 days and within 1 week after injection in the lips.

  
  Timescales Involved  
 

The results may be seen immediately. Follow-up maintenance treatments are needed about every three to six months.
