About Anti-Wrinkle Injections |
|
| |
Wrinkle relaxing injections
are usually the product of choice these days for anyone
wishing to soften lines and wrinkles particularly in
the upper third of the face. When injected into muscles
botulinum toxin relaxes the target area resulting in
a reduced muscle activity which smoothes out wrinkles
and lines giving a younger, fresher, rejuvenated appearance.

Treated Areas |
|
| |
The usual areas treated on
the face are crow’s feet, the frown lines between
the eyebrows (glabellar area) and horizontal lines on
the forehead.
The needles used are very fine
so most people experience only mild discomfort and no
anaesthetic is usually required. Clients may return
to normal daily activities immediately.

Most side effects experienced
by clients are temporary and may include headaches,
pain, burning, redness, swelling and bruising linked
to the injection site.

Timescales Involved |
|
| |
It takes several days to notice
any effect and varies from person to person. The full
effect can take up to 2 weeks following treatment when
a review may be given.
Duration of effect varies between
3 – 4 months and depends on the severity of the
area being treated. Repeated treatments tend to give
a longer lasting effect.
If treatment ceases lines will
gradually return to the pre-treatment appearance.

Safety Assured |
|
| |
Botulinum Toxins have been
used in patients for various medical conditions for
many years in both the UK and around the world.
The dose used for non-surgical
purposes is minute compared to other conditions. Ongoing
studies as to the long-term efficacy and safety profile
of Botulinum Toxins continue with favourable results
shown thus far.
